How can curiosity, empathy, history connect you to a place thousands of kilometers away from home?
This book talks about how knowledge is created in general, and the uniqueness of Chile, my country, in particular. In these stories, I have collected the findings and research made by Harvard academics inspired by the brilliant skies of the Atacama desert, the Andes mountain range, the Antarctic Ocean that surrounds the Southern tip of South America, and among the people and landscapes of a country built upon a "ring of fire."
Writing this book has been a pleasure and an adventure.
